Did you breathe today?

Hello!
The title of this post might sound a little strange, because if you are reading this, it means you did breathe and you are still living. But if you think about how many breaths you take in a day...on average about 50 000 or more, how many of those were you actually aware of?
It is hard to believe that you can do something 50 000 times in a day and not be aware of it. Well, I am here to tell you what an impact it can have on you if you take the time to notice your breath at least once a day.
Once a day for even a minute can have an important impact on your health, mind-body wellness, sense of peace, relaxation and stress levels.
In our fast paced society we are so often on the go with multiple tasks at any given moment that we do not even take the time to stop and smell the proverbial roses. Well, you really don't need to stop. Or find roses to smell. Breathing is something you can do anytime, anywhere, and whether you are aware or not, you do it, so you might as well take advantage of an opportunity to connect with your body and mind.
A small, constant improvement task, or Kaizen idea - try and notice your breathing and focus on your breath for one minute a day. If you start thinking of it once for a minute, add another minute at some other point in the day.
Just some quiet in and out breaths, focusing on nothing but the air going in and filling your lungs and releasing back into the outside world. The life giving air entering your body and nourishing your cells. We take for granted how miraculous our bodies are, and it is about time we embraced them, and paid them the respects that they deserve.
Take a few minutes today to check in with yourself and make sure you are still alive....not just merely living.
Have a great day, Namaste!
Jen
