Hi!
Are you someone who loves the holidays, or hates all the stress that they bring along with them?
This month the kaizen with jen podcasts will be talking about holiday survival. I want to have you think a little bit each day about what it is that the holidays mean. What do you have to be thankful for? Who do you have in your life that you can say thank you to?
How can you make your holiday shopping more stress free? How can you minimize the negative impact of all the unhealthy foods that you are exposed to during the holidays? Do you want to play victim to the holiday media frenzy? Try to avoid your exposure to TV and your children's exposure to commercials. Remind them what the holidays are all about, and why we want to appreciate each and every gift we receive.
Begin thinking about everything that is positive in your life, and start a gratitude journal. It can have a positive impact on your mood, happiness level, physical health and overall wellness. Take some time each day to write down three things that you are thankful for and why. Learn to look around and see the positives you have in your life, and when we focus on these, more positives will enter into our world.
Practice mindfulness and start to become aware of your choices, actions, thoughts and behaviours. This can have a positive impact on each moment you are shopping, working spending time with family or friends or even partying. Make a conscious choice to eat and drink the things you do, don't just eat what is nearby and drink whatever is offered. Choose what you want and savour each thing you put into your mouth.
And do not forget to take the time for yourself and take care of you. Pamper yourself with a bath, exercise, or talk to good friends. Treat yourself fabulously this holiday season!
Have a great day!
Namaste
